First off, we need to test if this guide even applies to you. You may start by opening Ragnarok.exe or Ragnarok_Re.exe, which if correctly installed, you will be able to find in your RO folder (normally C:\Program Files\Gravity\RO).
If it shows something like this: ????????????? ???? ???? ???? ??? and/or the Start button is greyed out and nothing seems to happen, then proceed to step 2.
If it doesn't do this, and proceeds to show a progress bar, then you should be following this guide to update.
1.Open up
Internet Explorer. (MUST BE INTERNET EXPLORER, NOT FIREFOX/CHROME/ETC)
2.Go to this
page. Search through the pages (using Control+F) for 'Korea'. You're aiming to find a proxy that resides in Korea. If you cant find one simply google it yourself.
3.Once you have found one, open up notepad, and paste the details it provides you with under the IP address column. To easy any confusion, it is provided in the following format: ip address:port
4.Back in your Internet Explorer, open up Tools >> Internet Options >> Connections Tab >> Lan Settings from the top menu strip.
5.Check the box that says: Use proxy server for your Lan Settings
6.Copy and paste/type the IP Address and Port number that you pasted into notepade in step 4.
7.Click Advanced >> Check the box that says: Use the same proxy
8.Press OK, and close Notepad and IE. There's no need to save. Try to open your Ragnarok.exe or Ragnarok_Re.exe. If you followed everything correctly, then you should be able to see a progress bar that is updating.
Remember to uncheck 'Use proxy server for your Lan Settings' when you're done updating RO to restore normal internet functionality!
So here's what you do. Change the IP address to the Korean Proxy, then run the Patcher Lite. That should do the trick.
